The handmade pottery with its intense colours, made by the artist Nimet, perfectly suits a great presentation of Mediterranean tapas and mezze. The pottery is authentic, handmade, hand-painted and originates from Turkey.

The patterns that are used in Nimet's collection are typical for Turkey. Several nations like the Seljuks and the Ottomans spread their own patterns such as the typical fishes, by travelling through the Byzantium Empire. A variety of bright colours is available.

The handmade Nimet series has been renewed: it is suitable for the dishwasher, but cannot be used in the oven and microwave.

Handmade Nimet

The basis of Nimet’s collection is white river clay. This material has a more refined

structure than the red clay, which is often used for pottery. White clay can therefore be worked into an elegantand thin end product, comparable to porcelain.

The crockery is twice baked at a temperature up to a maximum of 1200ºC. Then everything is handdrawn and hand-painted. Each bowl and every single dish is unique and proudly signed by the artist herself.

After a layer of enamel is applied everything is again baked for eight hours. This specific process guarantees the high standard of Nimet’s work, which is respected worldwide by ceramic specialists.
