A wooden board needs nourishment to stay beautiful and strong. Use a food-safe mineral oil, such as Pure Wood Oil for wood. This penetrates deeply into the wood and prevents it from drying out or absorbing odors and colors.
For extra protection, an additional treatment with wood wax, such as Pure Wood Wax, is recommended. The wax forms a water-repellent layer on the surface, reducing the chance of moisture and dirt, while keeping the nourishing oil locked into the wood.
Note: Teak, olive wood, and walnut are naturally oily woods and may release oil when damp or when maintenance oil/wax is applied, which can leave stains on the surface they are placed on. The board is not 100% waterproof and may eventually leak if used with liquids. Allow sufficient drying time and check the wood before placing it on a surface.
